Product Description

Designed for engines with 96 to 106 CID and compression ratios between 9:1 to 9:9, the 551G Gear Drive Camshaft Kit is a bolt-in cam set tailored for stock or mildly modified touring bikes. This kit reverses the rear cam's direction of rotation, allowing for increased operational clearance between cam lobes, which enables higher cam lifts.

Experience enhanced power across the entire RPM range, with a focus on improved low and midrange torque, particularly strong from 1,000 to 4,000 RPM. This camshaft kit increases valve timing accuracy by eliminating timing chain lash and the loosely fitting stock chain.

Installation requires the removal of material from the inner surface of the stock gear cover and necessitates the use of a hydraulic press along with other professional-grade tools. It's important to replace cam bearings and gaskets when installing new cams.

S&S recommends using an adjustable pushrod/cover kit for optimal performance. Please note that this kit is not recommended for compression ratios of 10:1 or greater. The kit includes inner gears, outer gears, inner and outer bearings, gaskets, and detailed instructions. Made in the USA, this product requires the installer to check coil bind, valve to valve clearance, and valve to piston clearance.

Due to the inherent characteristics of gear drives, users may experience increased valve train noise.
