The Chain Keeper holds the chain off the frame when the rear wheel is removed, preventing damage and allowing the drivetrain to turn freely. 🔧

Insert the Chain Keeper into the right rear dropout when the wheel is removed for cleaning, storage, or transport. The quick-release lever allows fast installation and removal. 🚲

Note: the original Chain Keeper was not designed for 12mm thru axle bikes; Pro and Travel versions are compatible with 12mm thru axles.

Features

  • Replaces the rear wheel to provide chain tension and protect the chain and frame when the wheel is removed.
  • Allows full forward and backward rotation of the drivetrain for cleaning, storage, or transport.

Instructions

  1. Shift the rear derailleur to the highest gear and remove the wheel.
  2. Position the Chain Keeper beneath the upper chain as you would when installing a wheel, with the quick-release lever facing the drive side.
  3. Push the chain upward with the Chain Keeper, pivoting the rear derailleur rearward if needed.
  4. Continue until the axle is seated in the dropout, tighten the nut, and close the quick-release lever to secure the Chain Keeper.
