The 487 Reaper cam responds very well to increased bore and compression and maintains strong bottom‑end power while pulling hard above 2,950 rpm. The effective rpm range is 2,250–6,100 with 38° overlap, and cam specs are measured in‑engine at the lifter @ 0.050 using a 1.61 rocker arm ratio. 🔧
The cam installation kit contains cam bearings, cam/crank hardware, and a complete gasket and O‑ring kit for a clean, simplified install. The camshaft is a chain drive, bolt‑in design for straightforward fitment.
Race Series® short travel hydraulic roller lifters are standard OD (0.8420–0.8423) and designed with 0.115" total travel. The included one‑piece pushrods are heavy‑duty 7/16" tube with 0.165" wall, HP+ 0.165 wall construction and +0.040" length for improved valvetrain stability and concentricity.
The Race Series® oil pump increases oil pressure, scavenge volume, and overall engine oil flow: roughly 30% more pressure gear volume, 53% more scavenge gear volume, and up to 42% more scavenge volume with optimized port sizing and passages. Expect cooler engine and oil temperatures and improved protection via magnets in the pump to help guard gears and the relief valve. Performance testing shows rear wheel gains and reduced engine sump oil level.
The high flow camplate is billet 7075 aluminum, bolts into the stock location, and is made in the USA. Feuling does not recommend tuning beyond stock emissions standards.
