Includes top compression rings, second compression rings, and oil control rings. ⚙️
Top compression rings are barrel face, and second compression rings are reverse torsional taper face. Oil control rings are a three-piece flex vent design.
The three-piece oil control design allows rails to be manufactured with a small cross-sectional area for better conformability to the bore, and it provides uniform pressure through four steel rails and two expanders for positive oil control.
The reverse twist ring, together with a taper-machined ring face, duplicates the OD bottom-side scraping edge of a positive twist torsional ring, promoting side sealing that prevents oil from being forced under and behind the ring for improved oil economy.
These rings help transfer heat between the piston and cylinder wall and control combustion chamber gases so the piston can transfer the energy of the expanding combustion gases to the crankshaft.
Made in the USA. Includes enough rings for two pistons. Two rings per groove, except for the rails where there are two rail rings per one expander.
Due to the thermal conductivity and design of KB pistons, special attention is required to the top ring end gap; please read the instructions furnished with the piston for correct ring installation.
