Introducing the revolutionary Race Series® Short-Travel Hydraulic Lifters, designed for enhanced performance and reliability. With an innovative design featuring only 0.115" of total travel, these lifters offer a significant advantage over full travel lifters that have 0.200". This unique travel reduction boosts RPM by minimizing valve float and valve-train harmonics, all while ensuring a quieter engine operation.
The reduction in travel also lessens the oil required to fill the lifter, which effectively reduces oil aeration during steep, rapid-action high lift camshaft lobes. This is critical; when oil aeration occurs, the pushrod seat drops, leading to noisy, poor-performing lifters.
These short travel lifters should be set with a preload of 0.065" - 0.070". As the engine heats up and expands, the lifter preload will stabilize at around half travel, ensuring optimal performance.
Constructed from a durable steel body, they exceed the requirements for large lift camshafts and higher valve spring pressures, boasting a slower bleed down rate. Compatible with Feuling® HP+® or Race Series® oil pumps, they are suitable for both street and strip engines, maintaining proper oil flow to the top end and promoting maximum valve lift.
Featuring precision ground needle roller bearings with a high chromium steel axle, these lifters ensure long life and minimal friction. A high-flow disc-style quick-reacting check valve improves responsiveness at higher RPMs. Developed using Spin-Tron dyno testing and proven on the track, these lifters are made in the U.S.A.
Installation Tip: Feuling® recommends pumping each lifter by hand before installation to eliminate air and ensure they are fully pumped. Using a thin weight oil like ATF in a squirt can is an effective method.
Important Note: Feuling® recommends using Race Series® lifters for engines with valve spring seat pressures exceeding 185 lbs (84 kg) and suggests a high volume oil pump for quieter, better-performing lifters.
