Product Description

The 585G Gear Drive Camshaft Kit is expertly designed for 88/96/103/110 cubic-inch engines with compression ratios ranging from 10.0:1 to 10.5:1. This innovative kit reverses the rear cam's direction of rotation, providing enhanced operating clearance between cam lobes, allowing for higher cam lifts.

It significantly improves valve timing accuracy by eliminating chain lash and the issues associated with loosely fit stock chain drives. Please note that material must be removed from the inner surface of the stock gear cover during installation.

This kit operates within a range of 3500-6000 rpm for 88" to 103" engines and 2500-5500 rpm for larger engines. A hydraulic press and other professional-level tools are required for installation.

S&S recommends the use of adjustable pushrod/cover sets for optimal performance. Additionally, cam bearings and gaskets must be replaced when installing new cams, and it is essential for the installer to check coil bind, valve-to-valve clearance, and valve-to-piston clearance.

Due to the inherent characteristics of gear drives, users may experience increased valve train noise. This kit is made in the USA and includes camshafts, inner gears, outer gears, inner bearings, outer bearings, a gasket, and detailed instructions.
